Chettinad Weavers — Sivaganga District
The Chettinad weaving community in Sivaganga district is known for their bold, vibrant cotton sarees with iconic geometric patterns and temple borders. We work with over 40 weaver families here, many of whom have been practising their craft for five or more generations.
Each Chettinad saree takes 2-3 days to weave on a traditional pit loom. The weavers use pre-shrunk cotton yarn and azo-free dyes to ensure colour-fast, skin-friendly fabric.

Coimbatore's weaving tradition combines fine cotton with delicate zari work. Our 30+ partner weavers in Coimbatore create sarees known for their slightly heavier drape and luxurious feel — perfect for office wear and semi-formal occasions.

Sungudi sarees from Madurai feature a unique tie-and-dye technique that creates the distinctive polka dot patterns the fabric is known for. This ancient art form requires immense skill and patience — each dot is individually tied before the fabric is dyed.
We partner with 25+ Sungudi artisan families in Madurai who continue this labour-intensive craft, creating sarees that are both culturally significant and strikingly beautiful.
